We celebrated my spouse’s birthday here, and it was fantastic! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch. The steaks were cooked perfectly, juicy and flavorful, and the sides were just as delicious. They even surprised us with a special birthday dessert, which was a lovely touch. A memorable experience all around – we can’t wait to return!

This is, by far, one of my favorite steakhouses. We've been here several times, for many different occasions. Friends visiting from out of town birthdays, and other celebrations and date nights. The wagu is to die for, the mussels are superb, and the steaks are always cooked to perfection. My favorite is always the amuse bouche... a great way to start the meal! I'm not a fan of coming downtown anymore, but eating at Cowboy Star is always on my list when I'm craving delicious steak and perfectly cooked muscles. I love sitting at the chef's bar, where we can watch the food being made and converse with the staff. It's absolutely wonderful to watch the magic happen! Thank you to the front of the house as well as the back of the house for always being courteous, helpful, and professional. 10 out of 10.. would recommend over and over!

Recently went here for dinner and the food was amazing. The steak melted in my mouth. The potatoes were creamy. Roasted Brussels sprouts 10/10. I wanted to stop eating but it was so delicious that I couldn't. And they I was convinced to get dessert. OMG. The Banana pudding was to die for. When I am back in San Diego I will make it a point to stop here. The staff was also friendly and very attentive.

This place is sent straight from God himself. Dress casual vibe. The filet minon is so good I haven’t been able to try anything else for years but let me tell you. I don’t need drugs to have fun ever again. All I need is this place. Watching all the crackheads walk by and thinking to myself if they could just experience this it might make them clean forever. However!!! First time I ever had an old fashioned (years ago) it was here. And I have yet to drink a better one. Also when you have your birthday here and make a reservation they print your name on the menus at your table. The dessert makes me literally feel like everything wrong in life is gonna be okay. My meal made me wanna kiss the chefs straight on the face. Seriously. I ate right by the door where you can watch them serve it up. I had to hold myself back from blowing kisses at them. The service here is excellent and it’s hands down the best waygu beef you’ll ever find here in SoCal. My favorite restaurant in San Diego. Top Tier. Had my eyes on the deviled eggs. Points off for the menus being dirty.

This is a must-go restaurant!! The ribeye I ordered was definitely the best I’ve had in San Diego. My date ordered their American Wagyu skirt steak and was blown away. Their service was quick and efficient. Server was knowledgeable and friendly. It was an amazing experience!

This steakhouse is a must stop on any itinerary! Customer service was very prompt and friendly. Now the bread here is SO GOOD! Warm, soft and they use that same bread for their chocolate chip bread pudding dessert which is PHENOMENAL! Steaks were cooked to perfection and automatically came with mashed potatoes and green beans! Loved that the steaks already came paired with sides, but if you leave without trying the mac and cheese then you missed out! 10/10! Expect us back very soon!

Had such a good experience at Cowboy star last night with work colleagues. I split the 18oz dry aged bone in rib eye and it was incredible and came with mashed potatoes and broccolini. All of the additional sides were great- beat salad, Mac and cheese, Brussels, carrots, everything was perfection. We also tried 4 of their desserts and everything was creative and delish. Extensive wine list but pretty limited on what you can get by the glass. Great old fashioned too. Definitely more of a casual and fun vibe compared to stuffy, old school steakhouses. It’s a bit pricey but justified for the quality.

Incredibly the best happy hour 3-6 pm Mon-Fri. My go to the old fashions are superb with some steak and fries or sliders. Wireless chargers on bar top and the best service in town. Full menu available at 5 pm. Cowboy Star never disappoints.
